Well Hello There…… Windy Listeners!

I have not posted in awhile, as so much as been happening with Windy Radio 103.9FM. White Stone Community Radio.

Windy Radio continues to grow and change and I must admit I truly love our Windy family.

Dick Patteson from day one, has given Windy great music programs such as The Beatles to the British Invasion without the Beatles.
Now he bring us a Tuesday “Ultimate Oldies” from 3-5pm, this is all the great oldies prior to 1964.
He also presents our “Friday Weekend Kick-off” from 3-5,pm which allows us to get ready to enjoy our weekend.
This includes beach music classics as well as what you need to hear to get your weekend started!

Windy is lucky to have Frederick Johnson, who jumped on board when Windy was just starting. Frederick has thought up and created all the community
out-reach shows, including Tuesday’s with Frederick and Robin, Mornings with Frederick and Robin, and now Lunchtime Rock and Roll with Frederick and Robin.
His desire and goal is to create a place on community radio where people can come to talk in an open format about what matters to us living here on the NNK and Middle Peninsula. He also will give us local news and his frank opinions on what is happening in the world, like it or not!

On one of our Tuesday’s with Frederick and Robin shows we met Captain Bob Cerullo.
From that interview Bob became “Ramblin Bob” who literally roams around the NNK and Middle Peninsula interviewing people about their passions, business and charities, and those local interviews can only be heard here on Windy 103.9 FM – community radio at its best!

Again on one of our Tuesday’s with Frederick and Robin shows we met Frank McCarthy, the owner of Visiting Angels.
From that interview Frank created “A Senior Moment” a half hour segment dedicated to our Seniors brought to our listeners by Visiting Angles in Kilmarnock. Every Wednesday Frank and Frederick bring you important news about Senior lifestyle at 8a.m. It may be serious tips about topics such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, or lifestyle changes and also local interviews from seniors themselves about living right here in our community!

Wednesday afternoons at 4p.m. Ramona Darden, owner of Body Fit and Morgan Ruth, Personal Trainer Extraordinaire bring Windy listeners Wellness Wednesday. Here you will hear advice and expert tips about fitness, nutrition and everything in between. They also interview community guest experts on these topics. Join these strong, smart women who know their stuff!

On Sunday at 10a.m. tune-in to hear Reverand Ace Oestreich give a 30 minute sermon. This inspirational message will help strengthen your faith.

Last spring we lost our Bill Goss, who we referred to as “The Voice”. Bill is missed each and every day, his constant enthusiasm and how with his Oldies Request Show, would bring back memories to all of our listeners.

Windy continues to grow and evolve with your input – just keep reaching out to us, we are your community radio station!
Right here- locally owned and operated just for you!

And the song? With A Little Help From My Friends, Joe Crocker Style from 1968

‘What would you do if I sang out of tune
/ Would you stand up and walk out on me?

Lend me your ears and I’ll sing you a song /
And I’ll try not to sing out of key’

We'd love to hear from you!
